peasants war scythe, sickle

The scythe or sickle is a farming tool, which was also used for armed conflicts, sometimes in the revolts of the peasants in the 16th century or later. The tools were used as garden knives on a short handle or as a hoe with a long stick and were logically also used by the peasants as weapons. Although they did not do too much damage in battle, because the enemy armored armies had much more effective weapons like the halberd, but they were not completely harmless because their sharpened edge inside could be used to beat.
